EAST SENIOR'S ART PIECE SELLS FOR $25,000 AT HLSR SCHOOL ART AUCTION

Victoria East High School Senior Melissa Sanchez received Best of Show for her graphite pencil drawing at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) School Art Contest.

SCHOOL MATTERS: SUMMER LEARNING, VISD SUMMER CAMP

As part of the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) Additional Days School Year (ADSY) initiative, VISD is offering its “Level Up” academic and enrichment camps. Victoria ISD is proud to bring back the academic and enrichment camp for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade for a second year.

VICTORIA EAST POWERLIFTERS FINISH SEASON AT STATE

The Victoria East High School Boys Powerlifting Team competed in the Texas High School Powerlifting Association State Championship this past weekend, finishing their season as the 12th place team in Texas.

WEST ROBOTICS TEAM COMPETES IN FIRST TWO COMPETITIONS

On March 10-11, and March 24, the Victoria West High School FIRST Robotic Team 9121 competed in their first competition in Belton and their second competition in Houston where they brought home multiple awards.

The Early Childhood Extravaganza was full steam ahead at the Children’s Discovery Museum on Thursday, March 9th, with more than 180 families in attendance.

VISD STUDENTS HONORED AT ANNUAL BOARD EXCELLENCE AWARDS

On Monday, March 20, and Tuesday, March 21, the Victoria ISD Board of Trustees recognized the top five fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students and the top 10 freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior students from Victoria East High School and Victoria West High School and their feeder campuses, respectively.

Victoria ISD's Leadership Definition, Leading Toward Genius, is separated into three categories (Connecting, Growing, and Reaching). This month our focus is on celebrating Growing in Genius. Growing in Genius is comprised of four indicators; the second is Inspires Others.

Last month, each campus selected one employee that embodies the “Inspires Others” indicator under Growing.
